PERSONAL TRAINING
When it comes to fitness the most efficient route to success is through personal training. While there are other ways to reach you goals only personal training gives you all the tools to get the job done. This is why one to one Personal Training is at the core of QOL’s training approach. Our aim is to acknowledge individuality not to try and impose one prescriptive plan on everyone.
Personal training is about forging a successful working partnership that identifies the best training formula for you as an individual.
You will learn about your body, what it is, how it functions and what it can do. It is possible to educate yourself from books, social media, and websites but there is no substitute for a skilled and invested coach willing to provide evidence- based and targeted coaching every step of the way.
Training structure will be different for each person but obviously there will be many common elements. The principle of progressive overload is fundamental. Placing gradually greater stress on the body will cause it to adapt and become stronger and more resilient. Resistance training leads to significant all-round benefits and cardiovascular conditioning is also essential to ensuring all round health and resilience. Fundamental to any conditioning programme is the overall enhancement of movement patterns.
You will experience exercise benefits like reduced body fat, weight loss, greater muscle definition but it is the underlying physiological adaptations that they reflect that are perhaps most important. Increased fat burning capacity, greater muscular endurance, increased strength, and a more efficient cardiovascular system are all advantages of an effective individualised conditioning regime.
Personal training is about change. Nobody starts from the same place. Whether training for a marathon, improving your health or transforming your body your targets should be your own.
If you are serious about changing something, then personal training can really work for you. If you are committed to the process then the experience, knowledge, and individual attention that a Personal Trainer brings will allow your hard work to bear fruit.
Having your own personal coach tailoring your training to your individual needs is the gold standard for delivering great results when it comes to your fitness and physical performance. Our job is to help you achieve results.
A good trainer isn’t just a motivator pushing you to work harder but is an experienced and empathetic guide that knows when to go harder and heavier but also when to call time and help you to maximise rest and recovery.
“Nothing worth having comes easy,” or so the saying goes. Hitting your fitness goals is going to take hard work and perseverance but you will have an ally every step of the way. Progressions will be challenging but never impossible. We will carefully plan and structure your workouts specifically to you so that while the exercises will always be demanding the targets will attainable.
You will be blown away by what it is possible to achieve. You will come to relish pushing yourself and testing your limits. You will start to notice changes. Muscles will seem firmer, that run will seem a little easier, that waist band will be a little looser. What you once struggled with will seem routine and what was once unimaginable will have been accomplished.
The answer is it depends. Typically, 3 months of regular working (2-3 x week) will achieve noticeable results for most beginners, but everybody will start from a different place. Improving your physical performance depends on reliably assessing existing strength and weaknesses. This will be accomplished with an initial consultation, and screening process.
We will take relevant measurements like heat rate, blood pressure and evaluate your exercise history and discuss your motivations and targets. We will also analyse your individual movement characteristics to identify exercises that will be more appropriate and effective for you.
Once this has been accomplished it is possible to set specific, realistic, and time-framed goals. This process is an essential element of any successful training programme as it will lead to sustainable improvements in physique, function, and performance.
